Early Morning Accident at FHS Caused by Medical Incident

FREMONT – The Fremont Police and Fire Department were called to a single-vehicle personal injury accident at roughly 7:30 this morning.
A 2008 Toyota Carolla was being driven north on Lincoln Avenue approaching the 16th Street intersection when the driver veered the vehicle to the right and left the roadway.
In the process, the vehicle struck a trash can in front of a residence and continued traveling north across 16th Street. The vehicle then hit a stop sign on the northeast corner of the 16th Street and Lincoln Avenue intersection, and eventually came to a stop after striking the Fremont High School marquee sign. The vehicle airbags were deployed.
The driver, a 17-year-old female, was uninjured as was the passenger whose age FPD does not have available. Investigators believe the 17-year-old suffered a medical incident prior to the crash, but she was not transported to any area hospital.
The Corolla sustained damage estimated at $7,500.00. There are no damage estimates available at this time for the FHS marquee sign.
